What is this about?
T160K is working to save REAL books in Mali. 300,000 ancient manuscripts had to be evacuated during an invasion of Timbuktu in the north of Mali. They are now hidden in the south of Mali where they face a new danger from rain and mold.
Yes, Timbuktu. Timbuktu is a real city and a very remote city. It was a very important center for culture and learning in the north west of Africa. We are working to preserve these incredible and beautifully made books until the library in exile can be returned home.
Isn't there a better way than umbrellas?
T160K is running a campaign on Indiegogo right now to raise money for the moisture traps, archival boxes, and the additional footlockers required to store these manuscripts safely.
What can I do to help?

But doesn't it take more than likes and tweets to save books?
Yes! If you have the ability, please read more about the campaign on Indiegogo and donate!
